I took this photograph during a snowstorm in late October 2010 in Grand Teton National Park.
This magnificent Bull Moose stared at me for several seconds without moving, allowing me to use a slow shutter speed to capture the movement of the falling snow. I almost always use a heavy Gitzo tripod, without which this shot would not have been possible.
There are many reasons to visit Grand Teton National Park. The most obvious is the spectacular mountain scenery. Another is its prime moose habitat.
